Responsibilities

• Perform general truck repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic diesel engines.
• Complete engine rebuilding work.
• Use electronic diagnostic software effectively for engine, brake, electrical, HVAC, and aftertreatment systems.
• Perform commercial vehicle inspections.
• Keep accurate and detailed job reports.
• Advise the service department on recommended follow-up repairs.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Complete work safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Follow company safety procedures and site-specific safety standards.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on diesel engines for automotive, marine, and power generation applications.
• Assist with commissioning of marine engine packages and standby generator packages.
• Perform pre-purchase and pre-season marine inspections.
• Maintain a strong focus on customer service and uptime.
• Order parts clearly and efficiently when needed.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman/Journeywoman certification in Commercial Transport or Heavy Equipment.
• Experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair.
• Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software such as Cummins, Navistar/International, Detroit Diesel, Bendix, and similar systems.
• Comfort using computers and software such as Microsoft Office or G Suite.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time well.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Class 1 or 3 license considered an asset and eligible for hourly incentive.
• BC commercial vehicle inspector certification considered an asset and eligible for hourly incentive.
