Below you will find some of my video creations along with the role that I played in each project.
These do not include my performances; you can find those here >
The Secret Life of Furniture
For this project I decided to play around with stop motion, and my goal was to create a truly emotional impact. I knew it couldn’t be too long so I brainstormed how to make it short but still having a full rounded story.
I chose a silent movie because I felt that I could convey the true emotions through music and sound. I had a blast working out which scenes needed to be stop motion as opposed to regular filing. And also in the creation of all the props.
I also love the editing process, because that’s where it all comes together and you can fine tune it to bring impact.
1984 Book Review
For this project I wanted to convey the same desperate emotion that I got from the book. I loved weaving together the perfect music and visuals to represent “Big Brother”.
It was challenging to represent the whole concept in such a short clip. But it was fun to plan out how I was going to make it portray that “they are always watching you”
Gy Style
I really enjoyed coming up with this concept. It was a commentary on the advertising industry and the goal was to reverse the gender norms. Why can’t a guy want a crop top? It was a silly premise and so much fun to play with.
To make this project come together I had to storyboard it all out, come up with props and the environments and edit the project to it’s final 45 seconds.
I Left my Heart in San Francisco
For this project the theme that I was given was to use an existing song to tell a story.
When we brainstormed what song to use, we wanted to choose a song that was simple and iconic.
We wanted to tell an LGBTQ+ story because it worked quite well for the song.
